JOURNEY OF FAITH ..continued

With permission of David R. Gunderson, we include the following book to our blog.   I will do a few increments at a time, as I have done with the Andrew Madsen and James Monsen histories.  I will also paste the pages over to David's own blog page: http://davidrgunderson.blogspot.com/
This book will be of interest to not only the Gunderson Family but also to the BrothersonEricksenPeel,   Madsen, Larsen and more.

Coins from the Union Pavillion and Madsen Logsdorf Store and Amusement

In searching through the material collected by Alice (Madsen) Pannier which I received from her daughter, Gladys Ann (Pannier) Butler, I discovered a small purse which contained a single coin or token.

This coin was marked as being “GOOD FOR 5¢ MACHINES” “MADSEN AMUSEMENT CO.”.

The other side had an image of the Salt Lake Temple

The collection also had a different picture of the Union Pavilion or Opera House owned by the Madsen family. It also shows the Madsen – Longsdorf store which was located on the North-East corner of Main and State Street in Mt. Pleasant
